The first one was by far the loudest film I've ever seen in a cinema. Presumably, by the law of sequels, the second one must be louder and cinema goers will be issued with ear defenders before entering the auditorium.

Yup.

Apparently he felt that Prometheus took all of the ideas he was going to use.

But as I loathed Prometheus with a fiery passion, and would happily watch something "like that, but done well", I think they should give him the cash.

This is, like, the one time ever where I think a prequel might actually have been the way to go. Nevertheless, I loved Pacific Rim, and if this isn't another of del Toro's innumerable vapor projects, I'll happily watch whatever he decides to put up on the screen.
