Our police forces are out of control. It's all war on drugs and patriot act bullshit. We gave 'em enough rope to tie us up to a tree, and now they are choking our asses. My hope is that the lawsuit will bankrupt the Atlanta police so they have to sell their tanks and assault weapons. The fact that officers get to keep their jobs after fuck-ups like this is disgusting.
Of course it's mostly poor people, minorities who get treated like this, so no need to worry, right? Our local sheriff went from friendly white cars with bold letters to black SUV's with ghosted words "county sheriff" that can barely be read. Despite this, I know there are good people working for our law enforcement, just wish they had the balls (or estrogen) to stand up against these community harming actions.
