No Wrong Way To Play: A blog about making your own fun in games.

Every week Anthony Burch (one of the guys at Gearbox Software) highlights a way of playing a video game in a way probably not intended by the designers. For example, Lone Survivor Mode Left 4 Dead: You can't close the saferoom door if more than one player is alive. You can't just kill your teammates or you won't make it through the level, but you can't let them live, either, because The Safe Room Only Has Room For One(tm). This sometimes winds up in a shootout to the death inside the saferoom as you desperately try to kill your friends before the Infected arrive and kill you both.

Whoa. I suppose it's only available on the Steam version and not the XBox 360 version. Too bad, it'd be a great reason to dust off the old console.

It's not a hard-enforced "mode", it's a method of play. Nothing STOPS you from closing the door early, except the rules you've agreed to play by. Closing the door with two survivors is a failure because you've agreed it was.
