The new(ish) Justice Secretary who's reversed this and a chunk of other REALLY STUPID policies implemented by his predecessor was before this Education Secretary. He was, by all accounts, one of the worst, most dogmatic, stupidly conservative education secretaries we've had for decades, when he was finally reshuffled out teachers actively partied. Any allegation that he stayed in role purely because it's the job he wanted and he's the PMs best mate are entirely spurious and made up honest.
Whereas after the GE he got appointed to Justice, which scared the crap out of everyone, and he's turning into perhaps the best Justice Secretary we've had for years, if not decades. When I tell my teacher friends how pleased my lawyer friends are with the job Gove's doing they look shocked.
Grayling was so bad that he makes Michael Gove look like a paragon of sensible pragmatic competence in comparison.
