Not only does Scott Lynch write FUCKING AWESOME fantasy, he also has a gift for truly brilliant profane turns of phrase.

I would seriously pay good money just to buy that man a series of drinks and listen to him swear.

(He also comes off as a genuinely awesome human being in everything I've read by and about him, and I wish he had more surcease from his brainweasels.)

But, yes. He's high on my authors-I'd-actually-love-to-meet list, which is both short and selective :)

As Oscar Wilde, or perhaps George Bernard Shaw once said, De gustibus non est disputandum, you pestilent fucking cockbag.

This is magnificent.

I've not read any of Mr. Lynch's stuff before, but I think I might have to keep an eye out for him next time I'm book shopping.

Seconding the rec of The Lies of Locke Lamora. I read half of it in one sitting at a coffee shop, and a few people asked me what I was laughing at.

Second book is even better, but I really recommend starting with the first.
