"Given that sports may very well foster pagan and humanistic attitudes, I urge parents to think deeply about this issue and about whether or not any members of their families should participate in organized sports programs. As a minimum, I hope you will agree with me that we should keep our daughters away from competitive sports and spend our time training them how to be Biblically feminine women, wives and mothers."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It took me until the second sentence to burst out laughing like that. Women didn't participate in the workforce until fifty years ago? I guess agricultural societies didn't, and still don't, have a "workforce"? Or we all collectively hallucinated several thousand years of nonstarvation, not to mention the wearing of stuff made from woven fabric?

I'm not reading any more.

I laughed at that quoted bit because it was the first bit I saw - it's the text of the link I yoinked.

Reminds me of the "martial arts turns people into idolaters!" page I saw once, though I think that turned out to be a hoax.

I was never into organized sports and yet I turned into a pagan anyway. Do they suggest any other such agents of evil? I want to know who to blame...

Now, now, being Biblically feminine (at least in this context) doesn't mean you don't have to work. It just means you do work you don't get paid for, because the man in charge of you is going out into the cold cruel world for you and taking care of all the things it would be too hard for you to do...

Dammit, somebody pass me a shotgun. I won't use it on people. I'm kind and gentle. But the noise is appealing, and I kind of like the idea of engraving that paper on a few clay plates and then blowing it to smithereens.

I have a much clearer idea of being Biblically feminine, instilled in me at a very young age (somewhere around five, I think). It largely revolves around the conviction, gained while reading through The Children's Bible Stories (with Beautiful Colour Illustrations) that Jael is about the coolest character in there, and takes no shit from anyone.

I really don't like organized sports. I've also actualy noticed a connection between christians and organized sports.

So this being listened to would be amusing.
