Mar. 16th, 2005 10:38 amAh, yes, the "Student Academic Freedom" bill. Submitted by House Education Chairman Dennis Baxley, the goal is apparently to protect students by having them never have to encounter anything they disagree with.
"Students have a right," the bill intones, "to expect that their academic freedom and the quality of their education will not be infringed upon by instructors who persistently introduce controversial matter into the classroom"
