Identity theft gone... right?
Mar. 18th, 2005 12:56 pmWhen Tashiany L. Martin left her job as a licensed practical nurse at Latta Road Nursing Home in Greece, her colleagues and patients were sad to see her go.
"She was very calm, very compassionate and very caring," said director of nursing Lynette Schuler. "All of the residents loved her."
Of course, she was working under that name of Micheiko Foster-Wright, who identity and credentials she had stolen in order to get the job.
When Martin sought a job at Latta Road Nursing Home in 2003, she presented Foster-Wright's nursing license and a fake driver's license and Social Security card, the papers allege.
Foster-Wright didn't know about Martin's alleged actions, authorities said. She couldn't be reached for comment Thursday.
The fraud was discovered when Foster-Wright received a notice from the Internal Revenue Service notifying her that she owed $2,000 in taxes on wages for 10 months she had purportedly worked at the nursing home at 2100 Latta Road.
Foster-Wright, who had never worked there, stopped by to straighten things out.
