According to the person I got it from, the promotion was stopped when people started using cutting torches on the steel posts, because taking apart the posts was cheating.

But I don't think they actually had any restrictions apart from that and "must be legal"

It was only up there for a single morning, I believe. Plus, most of that cash isn't -- only the top rows are real, so the total in there was only like a few thousand, not the million plus it looks like.

Nobody managed to break the glass, but the posts holding the glass up failed even without mechanical tools after a while of kicking at the thing.
