I remember reading about that type of first-order analysis about how much of your genes you are likely to share with what relative and how animal behaviour might follow that factor in one of Dawkins' books. It's truly fascinating to see an example like that: They don't police as much when the queen has mated only once, but more when they queen has mated multiple times. Even that's "taken into account", if I might be allowed a brief anthromorphization here.
