[livejournal.com profile] pope_guilty finds links from people who've been funding the amentalism a little too much.

"Modern electronic-rock music, inaugurated in the early 1960s, is, and always has been, a joint enterprise of British military intelligence and Satanic cults."

Oooh, now about how gamers teach you real "magick"
"These kids are easily drawn into occult groups through [role-playing] tournaments," said Peter. "When kids transition from simulation -- when they actually experience the POWER that is available to them through the rituals they are learning to perform under the guise of 'fantasy' -- that power becomes like an addiction and they get hooked. But they don't see that."

"I could walk up to any of these teens who showed promise," he continued, "and I could put my hand on their shoulder, look them in the eye and say, 'If you get a rush from this, how would like to do it for real?' No one has ever answered no."
Yeah. Nobody's said no because you've never asked anyone who wasn't already delusional. Me, I say Jack Chick fucking lied to me - he promised me REAL MAGIC if I just put up with D&D for long enough. Bah! Bah I say! If you can't trust Jack Chick, how can you trust that Puerto Rican guy Chick wants me to trust?

Speaking of which, we have illiterates complaining about the "detailed satanic rituals" hidden in D&D, because, y'know "I cast Magic Missile!" is really somethign that lets Satan into your life!

We have prayed with enough people our age and younger who were former D&D fans, and they were totally in bondage to it.

Bondage? *blink* I wanna find THAT D&D group!

I don't. Have you *seen* most D&D players?

If I could learn "real" magic by gaming I wouldn't be 30 and living in my Mom's house. Plus I'd be thinner. And there'd be a lot more dead people...

Pretty much. If D&D taught you real magic, then there'd be a lot fewer people complaining about D&D.

Of course, they claim it's because God protects them from the magic - they can sense it.

I often wonder if treating people who "feel the holy spirit" in them with antipsychotic medication would help, and if they'd understand what that meant.

Hmm, think I can get the same effect from Shadowrun?

Where's my satanic cyberware?!

I want a demonic smartgun link.

That would rock.

I want the Christian crazies to go away.

That would rock more, I think.

With a demonic smartgun link, I could "pray" the crazies away!

What totally amuses me about stuff like this is that holding these views requires people to believe in magic—the full-on, demon-summoning, anthropormorphic-transforming kind. Hell, most of 'em probably played D&D as kids and got way too into it, if you know what I mean.

All I know is, I've been doing rituals for ten years now, and so far this has failed to result in Magic Missiles of any description, including silicone.

Actually, I kind of wish I could turn people into toads. It would save so much time and trouble.
