i still think they should have stuck with the original daniel libeskind design for the area which included a lot of ground-level, publically accessible, free resources like bandshells and auditoriums. when i read about the outdoor auditorium in the original plans, i actually felt like i might have a reason to go to new york. i could go there, post 9-11, and maybe have a pretty neat place to speak to some interesting crowds about interesting things. i might actually have travelled to new york (i've never even been in the state,) for that. but the designs they came up with are all geared totally towards commercial use. so, they suck. i'll never go to new york.
