The holster kept the gun firmly on the deputy's hip, but the trigger was accessible and the safety was off.
Quoth the sheriff: "The most dangerous places in our country are where there are no guns."
No, you idiot, the most dangerous places in your country are where *idiots* have guns, then places where only bad people have guns. "No guns" is significantly safer all around, it's just impractical.
