That's an extremely small test group. So small, in fact, that it's arguably dismissible for that fact alone, I'd say. Still, the fact that only (I note that it doesn't say "all and only", but only "only") the homophobic men showed increased penile arousal to male homosexual vidoes is suggestive, but I wouldn't say that this study is in any way conclusive.

The abstract suggests, by its wording, that all the homophobes experienced arousal. Without grabbing the whole thing (which I'm not going to, from here - too expensive), I can't tell if you if my recollection from when it was published of a unanimous and exclusive link is correct.

Besides, how many homophobic preachers do you know of who say that they've been tempted but "know sin for what it is!", or who argue so strongly that "homosexuality is a choice" that one wonders when it was that they made their decision to not engage in the buttsex they wanted? Or who are "reformed" homosexuals, or who are outed as homosexuals in their personal lives?

Traditionally, psychiatry has considered the content of delusions as irrelevant and only sees the 'form' of a belief as important in diagnosis and treatment. For example, how true it is, how strongly it is held, how it was formed and so on.
