In Florida, they've been using a flawed version of the Miranda rights since 2001, and so are not allowed to use the confesions of anyone they arrested.

Speaking of Florida and murder, Ronnie Paris beat his 3-year-old son to death trying to get him to box, because he was afraid the boy might be a "sissy".

The boy's mother, Nysheerah Paris, knew about this, but didn't want to tell anyone about it because "I just didn't want my baby to get tooken away from me,'' she said. "I thought he was going to make it.''

EDIT: Naturally, the parents of the baby beaten to death because he "might be gay" are card-carrying members of the American Taliban, Bible-study enthusiasts, and, of course, nobody said anything when he was pulled off life support and he was put back with the natural parents from a safe foster home because they're not white.

Both stories are just sickening. And as far as the first one goes, that's why frankly I don't think they should be able to throw out evidence for things like a flaws Miranda wording, or what have you. Force fines on cops who willingly don't give the correct rights, or don't color between the lines 100%... but don't get rid of perfectly good evidence because of technicalities. Jesus.
