Actually, that's a fairly useful gadget. It seems that in the far east, people are starting to use the USB plug as a standardised power plug for anything needing low voltage -- cellphone chargers, pda chargers, any amount of other electronic gear, miniature fans, lights, whatever. They also have all sorts of wqays of producing 5V for a USB interface with only the power pins wired up -- 12V for cars, regular AC adapters, penlite battery adapters, all sorts of variants with internal rechargeable batteries, etc.etc. What that means is that, for travel especially, you only have to take one set of power adapters for all the electric shit you take with you, a not insignificant weight savings in this day and age, and you can use all of it plugged into the wall, or in the car, or wherever.
i've only seen battery powered ones, but considering that article i foudn the other month on internet controlled vibrators, it would not surprise me if they come to light soon...
