(For those who are not Danish: "Avoid orphans" has been translated as "Protect against whore's babies". Also: "attributer" is old slang for "tits")

If Danish uses the same terminology as Swedish here, "horeunger" is the proper translation. In Swedish, it's "horungar".

Upon googling, I see that "horeunger" is the correct Danish expression. It's just American sentiments about moral language spreading, together with lack of knowledge.

Attribut is also sometimes used in at least Swedish, but with a slightly different meaning from "egenskap". An "attribut" is a defining characteristic ("egenskap"). I think the same distinction is used in Danish.

The guy I linked is a Dane - he says that "horeunge" is an insult, like "bastard" or "whoreson", as opposed to "orphan", which would be "asyl" or "asylet". Either way, he's not an American, and he seems to be a native Dane...

And he does admit that the "attributer" bit is slang. Click the link - you're in better shape to evaluate what he says and respond to him than I am.

I've already done that, and I still stand by my evaluation. I can provide you with a reference to some real Danish translators, if you want to, or you can simply google for "horeunge typografi" and note the hits. Danish wikipedia seems to have a good article.
