Harrods employee Maggie Bartram watches Cedric the deadly Egyptian cobra guard a precious Rene Caovilla sandal -- one of a pair encrusted with rubies, sapphires and diamonds -- in a glass display. The sandals sell for $125,887 at the London department store.

Little girl has stroke in school.

Nobody does anything for more than an hour, because the principal has ordered that nobody is allowed to dial 911 from the school, for any reason.

Now she's 14, can hardly walk, has only one working arm, and reads at about a 5th-grade level, down from being an honour student before.

Bonus: Why didn't they dial 911? Why, No Child Left Behind, of course. Call 911 too often and your school is marked "dangerous" and gets closed.

Video here.

Look, demanding that you show your receipt after the checkout is insipid, but this is completely ridiculous.

For consideration: Do you think that maybe hiring "security guards", for minimum wage, out of the pool of people who really really want to be cops but keep failing the psych tests, might not be a good practice?

Hey, remember the judge who ruled that the words "rape", "sexual assault", "victim", and "assailant", among others, were totally banned from a rape trial? As in, the jury weren't allowed to hear the accusation?

The victim's suing him.
