I would not count physically weak battered spouses to be prey animals, so I have trouble considering babies prey animals on that criteria.

What scares me is that it comes naturally.
It occasionally takes a minute or two for implications to trickle in, but it doesn't often require conscious effort anymore, just reasonable attention.
