Really? I don't get it and French is my first language. I can get that "quai" ressembles "queue" which is a slang word for cock ... but quai is the structure, not the things that the boads hook on to. Bollard and mooring post, in my book is a "poteau d'amarrage". Unless maybe I grew up in the wrong part of Quebec?

Mmm. I don't know about Quebec slang, but those posts are called "bittes d'amarrage", and "bitte" means cock, though that may be French-French slang.
