In lj_biz, a question is asked: Why are pro-anorexia communities tolerated?

coffeechica, who is one of the people running Livejournal, manages to clearly demonstrate that she has no idea what "pro-anorexia" means, and then flip-flop repeatedly on why some of the TOS are more equal than others. It's a train wreck.

If you search for "coffeechica", you should get to her posts and by clicking on them you should be able to see the first-level of responses.

However, the summary is this:

LJ bans fanficcers for making kiddy porn fic (good, that shit is both shit and illegal)
LJ bans fanficcers for making *adult* porn fic that involves no children at all (mixed: It's still shit, but it's legal shit)
LJ explains these bans as TOS violations.

User points out that TOS includes rules against self-harm and self-destructive behaviour, and advocacy of same. Points out pro-anorexia communities.

LJ responds, alternately, with "those are support groups, they help the victims", "banning the groups won't fix the problem", "has anyone reported them to Abuse?" and "they do more good than harm, so they can stay".
