That must have been quite the load of laundry! But why did you find it necessary to *sneak* the light switch plate into the house?

Odd, usually spambots have a payload and aren't multi-year-old accounts with hundreds of posts and a moderate reasonable-sized Friends list.

So you get a chance to explain first, rather than getting kickbanned and reported for spamming immediately.

My apologies,

I clicked on the worgn "leave a comment" link; your and my friend's post were one above the other. The above comment makes perfect sense in the correct context, however [livejournal.com profile] dyanearden's post I was replying to is "friends only".

Please feel free to delete this thread.

Cheers,
Spike.

No worries, thanks for explaining. I was just... confused. Usually incoherent stuff from strangers means "spam", but your journal doesn't give off any of the normal spam signs.

I am now tempted to copy his/her reply and respond with it to some friends journals.

I'm also terribly intrigued by this sneaky light switch.

LOL!!

I'd be confused too. That's quite the non-sequitur when out of context.

It's an honest to goodness blog alright, but I really should clear the cobwebs one o'these days.

Cheers!

So, we have a guy who was arrested while sitting down waiting for loan paperwork, with no bomb in his possession, on the word of the bank manager that he said he had a bomb and wanted to rob the place but was talked out of it.

"Bank robber is complete idiot" is definitely one interpretation of events, outlandish as it is, but barring other witnesses, "Bank manager is sociopath" seems equally valid.

"Quick-thinking staff kept the man calm and distracted him with some paperwork until we arrived," Lt. Darren Thompson said.

I interpreted this as tellers or other staff bringing him the paperwork while the manager was calling, though on second reading "staff" could just mean the manager. In any case, I expect the bank had video monitoring.

Can't imagine what that initial confrontation sounded like, though. Every time I try, it just sounds like a really bad comedy routine.

After 9/11, I swore I'd never laugh at stupid criminals-- they cause so much less damage than smart criminals. However, you're making it rather difficult to keep that promise.

Helping a friend in need is commendable, but... sometimes I really wonder about people. Bank robbery? That was the first thing he thought? Actually I pity this man a bit. I think he needs professional help more than time in prison or whatever they are planning for his sentence. Not like there was a real bomb.

Good thinking from the staff. No one was hurt, go you!
