Call the cops because your boyfriend is beating the shit out of you? Get deported.

There's versions of this story floating around that say she is an illegal immigrant, and versions that say she's legal but her visa was revoked for being arrested and "associating with known criminals" like the guy she called the cops on. Anyone got a link with an actual answer either way?

That the deportation proceedings have been suspended tells me that something else is going on that has not been reported.

The kind of nasty-ass publicity that you get when the ACLU sues you for deporting someone for calling the cops could, I think, explain the halting of deportation.

If I had to guess - and it is just guessing, albeit somewhat educated - I would assume that the arrest was found to be improperly carried out.

I also suspect that this is going to disappear from the news cycle very quickly. I hear the LAPD has really huge, lumpy rugs.
