Avadon: The Black Fortress

Old-school RPG, looks like part Ultima VII, part Shining Force, a little Diablo, a whole lot of Final Fantasy.... and the author of the game also wrote The Poo Bomb: True Tales Of Parental Terror, the single best book on parenting ever released, to the point where I got a signed copy for my oldest sister when she first spawned and other, lesser copies for each of my other siblings, because dude, BEST BABY BOOK EVER.

He's also a friend of mine, not that that matters.

I'm totally tickled that Avadon is getting so much attention, though.

As I remember it, you're the one who got me the signed-and-personalised-to-my-sister copy!

That's right! I'd forgotten about that.

I just ran into him recently, too.

Oh that guy! I loved his blog, which he turned into the book. I especially liked all of his "babies are stupid" entries, which got rude looks from his wife and family despite being factually correct.

So he has a game, and it's on special, and it's actually available for the Mac? And then I get a "Failed to load web page (unknown error).-2" error?

Fuck you, karma.

It worked in the browser, though.

Jeff makes great games. I'm in some of them as an important character. No, really.

"Do not eat the baby" has become a standard part of our vocabulary.

I saw the Steam news post about this game, and thought "Huh, that looks good. Not too pricey, might have to get it."
But I thought I'd check the forums first (because, y'know, Ubisoft...)
The forums link redirected to the Spiderweb Software forums. I said "Oh, hell yes," and bought it straight away.
He's also re-re-releasing the Exile series. Maybe this time I'll actually finish it...

(Also, unlike certain other publishers who will remain nameless, Jeff apparently understands that US$1 != €1, which would have been an extra incentive if I'd needed one).
