It is siphoning the lake, processing fish into their component elements, and ejecting the unneeded water via structures that you or I might call "antlers" but in moose are actually wastewater ejection ports that double as bearcrushers.

This is a critical part of the reproductive lifecycle of moose.

I see that this moose (a member of "terroranimal shittinmypanticus" genus) has also used the so-called "antlers" (a simpler term often used by non-biologists) to skin a bear (and not, as some people errorneously think, shed the velvety skin covering the bone growth). I can recognize hairless bearskin at any distance, yessir, as a result of having to sit in a tree for four days while ferocious, blood-lusting moose tried to both shake me down and tire me out. Luckily, a bear had a fatal random encounter with these forest psychopaths, and I was able to slip away while the beasts were decapitating, mangling and dismembering the poor grizzly. The only thing I lost was my dignity, and four days of separation from the internet. The squirrel occupying the same tree, however, was mightily miffed that I had to rely on its soft fur while "doing my business" up in the tree, but the threat of throwing it down into the moose maw shut up the yakking tree rat.
