Ah yes - thankfully Samsung is a great company, not in any way illegal, right? I find it funny that so many people focus on Apple as the "trolls" when these guys are a festering cesspool of corruption, worse than Enron or WorldCom.
You are cordially invited to go fuck yourself. The difference between religion and thinking is the presence of facts, and it's a fact that Apple are bad. They're bad at design, they're misleading in marketing, they're bad at tech, and they're deeply anticompetitive whenever they can be because their products simply can't compete in an honest market.
It doesn't matter who Apple is suing. It matters that Apple is once again suing a competitor because once again it can't win by competing.
Suck my balls, kid. In 2008, the current Samsung chairman, Lee Kun-Hee, stepped down after his house and offices were raided and a police investigation began into claims that the corporation was maintaining a slush fund to bribe court officials and politicians. Found guilty of financial wrongdoing and tax evasion by Seoul Central District Court on July 16 2008, Lee Kun-Hee was in serious trouble. But despite prosecutors requesting that he be sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $347 million, the sentenced handed down was three years suspended and $109 million in fines. The South Korean Government pardoned Lee Kun-hee in 2009 to allow him to help with its successful bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. He is now a member of the International Olympic Committee and returned as Samsung’s Chairman in March 2010. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Kun-hee#Samsung_scandal http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/business/worldbusiness/17iht-samsung.4.12107507.html?pagewanted=all
And what part of "It doesn't matter who Apple is suing. It matters that Apple is once again suing a competitor because once again it can't win by competing" was unclear to you?
Apple's actions are disgusting - we all agree on that (I hope!.) But what I'm hearing is that Samsung is somehow a better company. And that's just not the case.
That's fascinating, because what I'm hearing is "OMG Apple won a ridiculous patent lawsuit against Samsung.", followed closely by "Well, it's not as if Samsung are lily-white angels either, y'know".
I don't live in South Korea nor in the USA, so to me both are companies gaming their corrupt systems. From where I'm standing they are indistinguishable.
Why should I give two fucks how you guys fail to control your corporations in your own soil?
PS: your link doesn't appear to have done even the most basic spellcheck. Why should I take them seriously, even if they HADN'T been taking the side of The Worst Company Ever?
They had a subject-tense agreement problem that's been fixed, and there's a couple of realy weird phrasings that are arguably Britishisms.
But, again, what part of "It doesn't matter who Apple is suing. It matters that Apple is once again suing a competitor because once again it can't win by competing" was unclear to you?
And (though possibly worthy of its own post I'm not sure how else to get it to you) now we have Apple outright saying "Freedom of Speech? Fuck it. Freedom of the Press? Never heard of it. Freedom to use your own bloody devices as conceived, built, and marketed? YEAH RIGHT."
