Date: 2012-10-13 12:36 am (UTC)The yellow-eyed demon, sure. Ruby and Lucifer, sure. Crowley, makes the top 10 by virtue of "there have to be 10 in a top 10, right?", but no. Give him another 3-5 seasons and maybe.

Date: 2012-10-13 03:35 pm (UTC)To counter the obvious argument: If the Borg count(Second season of TNG, i.e. fifth season of Star Trek ever broadcast) then Pyramid Head(second game in the series, after the first established all the major elements) counts.

Date: 2012-10-13 04:21 pm (UTC)The Auditors in Discworld. (the only repeatedly recurring villains I can think of for the series, but didn't appear until the 11th book)
The Necrons in Warhammer 40k. (uh.. About 15 years in?)
Akuma in Street Fighter (6th game)
Igniz in King of Fighters. (8th game)

Date: 2012-10-17 01:57 pm (UTC)I'm not sure you could call Dredd well established at that point, let alone that it's a long time in. Definitely an iconic character, but it's more true to say that those story arcs helped establish Dredd, surely?
(was going to suggest Chopper, but by this logic issue 206 isn't 'long after' either really, and I'm not sure he'd count as a villain)
