theweaselkingDenmark bans kosher and halal slaughter, points out that animal cruelty is animal cruelty even if you're being cruel to animals because God says so.
(This reminds me of an article I saw yesterday on a snake-handling Christian, who kept around 30 rattlesnakes and copperheads to use in his sermons, and who said in an interview that his supplier of live mice had moved away, but he hadn't gotten a new one because most of the snakes wouldn't eat anyway and besides, they only live for 2-3 months so it's not important to feed them. Reminder: A rattlesnake in captivity should live 20 years. Said Christian died of a snakebite shortly after giving that interview.)
