The University of Kentucky have managed to read this document:

That's a scroll that was burned sometime around 500CE, found by archaeologists decades ago. It turns out if you x-ray the fuck out of it you can get enough data to have a computer separate out the layers of the scroll and digitally "unroll" it, resulting in output that looks kind of like this:

That's Hebrew, and it begins "The LORD summoned Moses and spoke to him". It's a copy of Leviticus.

But my point is, we can read burned books, by examining the ashes.

I love living in the future.
