I was a member of the Artists Rifles at Bisley for a few years, often enjoying a pint before, during and after shooting sessions in the clubhouse bar. It wasn't the only clubhouse with a licence to sell alcohol on the Bisley ranges, of course.
On one memorable occasion I helped a friend I was spotting for persuade the Law Lord on the next point over on the 600 metre line that he had had too much to drink after he had put five rounds of 7.62mm Radway Green through my friend's target. Shame really, there were three bulls in the five shots.
