Today's racially sensitive auction on eBay:

A copy of the 1897 children's book "Ten Little Niggers"

It's also worth noting that the seller includes the section from eBay's TOS about "potentially offensive but true historical pieces" in his auction, and that he's allowed to use "Nigger" because it's in the title of the book - and so he puts it on its own line, in larger font, and centered.

He's also in North Carolina and uses the name "rebel_soldier". His other auctions include a bunch of Confederate States memorabilia, a first edition copy of "Uncle Tom's Cabin", a first edition of "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland", the "Alabama Coon Jigger" wind up toy, and an issue of "Judge" magazine from 1924 about how stupid the KKK were.

It's an... interesting lot.

Thats...interesting.

Have you ever read the Agatha Christie mystery Ten Little Indians? (It's also published under the title of Then There Were None.) She uses that rhyme in a rather interesting way, but she changed the characters to Indians, probably in an attempt to make it less racist. It's a good suspenseful story, nonetheless.

I never read the story, but I saw the play when I was 7 or 8 or so.

It's a neat story.

Actually, she initially published it as Ten Little Niggers in the UK. The US version initially was "And then there were none", and later became "Ten little Indians" in all US and UK reprints after 1965.
