Opposing abortion, in the Clinton-esque sense of wanting it to be safe, legal, available, and the absolute last resort, can be a nonreligious issue.

Insisting that abortion should never be allowed under any circumstances is irrational and totally indefensible - in short, religious.

Now, I don't happen to share their ultimate reality, and think it's pretty disgusting that they're willing to force a child to go through such pain so that they can live with their worldview as intact as possible. Nonetheless, it really is a case of faithful devotion to their acknowledged ultimate reality--that life may be sacred, but dignity or choice or freedom or anything that might interfere with the incredibly profound role of female as incubator can all go to hell.

For the people in question, yes it could be. But not for all.

I oppose abortion (except for in the case of the life of the mother, because in that scenario two people would die, so saving one is the right choice) because I believe all human beings have one basic right, and that right is the right to life, and it trumps all other rights.

I do not believe anyone has the right to make the choice to take life away from another human being. Hence why I also oppose war, euthanasia and capital punishment. Suicide or doctor-assisted suicide I have no problem with, because if people wish to choose death for themselves, that is their own perogative, but I do not believe in choosing it for someone else unless they have clearly stated (with evidence) that they wish it.

Unless you can pass a basic exam showing you're not:

a) A complete idiot
b) Unable to provide even basic necessities for whatever reason
c) Under the age of legal majority
