Sinister Suicide Pushers are behind the latest spate of Japanese strangers getting together to kill themselves en masse, according to Shukan Jitsuwa

The Internet is packed with what are called suicide sites, where those with the urge to end it all can find the best way to go about doing themselves in and can even find buddies so they don't have to perish alone.

Within a week three separate groups of Japanese killed themselves, each using charcoal burners in cars to fatally poison themselves with carbon monoxide fumes. All found out about the apparently painless method of death through suicide sites, and used the wicked websites to source the materials they needed to top themselves.

Mr. X, a regular user of suicide sites, tells the men's weekly that they are also frequented by jisatsu aoriya, literally Suicide Pushers who encourage the emotionally fragile not to keep fighting but instead take that final step over the brink.

"Nearly everybody posting messages on suicide sites are looking to encourage somebody else to take their own life. Most of them are fairly negative types,"

Pupils who have taken to wearing a blue wristband to pledge their support for a government-sponsored anti-bullying campaign are becoming the target of bullies

The wristbands, which have been championed by David Beckham, Kelly Brook and Bono, have also become a sought-after fashion item. The website eBay is currently advertising 25 for up to £21 a go.

Julie Oakley, the founder of Bullywatch, which supports families of the victims of bullying, said: "Kids who wear the wristbands have become natural targets.

"There has been a lot of interest in them because they are rare, and have become valuable. They are sought-after in the same way as new trainers.

"It's totally sick that something designed to help fight bullying could be used in this way - it completely defeats the object."

Holy crap, were these people who come up with this never children themselves? "I identify myself as a victim of bullying, and allow you to take the initiative!" Why not just paint "shiteater" on the back our your children's clothes, it would probably incite less ridicule.

Man fights off two police officers, is tasered five times, and shrugs off a full can of pepper spray to the eyes.

Afterward, he reportedly told authorities he might have smoked PCP beforehand, but was unsure.

Trust me, buddy, we're sure, even if you're not.

A South Florida driver plowed into a motorcyclist Tuesday night and kept going, even as the screaming man rolled onto the hood of the car.

"He didn't know what he hit. He said 'I didn't know. I hit some debris.' I said, 'Debris? But the guy was on your hood yelling at (your) windshield to stop,'" said witness Thomas Thibert.

"I didn't see a guy on my hood," said the driver, Scott Eisenberg. "If I saw a guy on my hood I would have stopped right there. I simply thought I ran over something."

The motorcyclist, Marlowe Buelvas, was driving west on I-595 near State Road 7 when he said Eisenberg hit him. After the impact, Buelvas managed to get up off the ground and write down Eisenberg's license plate number.

Thibert stopped to help Buelvas, then took off after Eisenberg. He chased him 20 miles to Pompano Beach where Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Broward Sheriff's Office deputies intercepted him.

Investigators questioned Eisenberg, but did not arrest him Tuesday night. Today, however they have announced he is charged with the following:

* Leaving the scene of an accident involving damage.
* Failure to report an accident immediately.
* Failure to leave information.
* Careless driving.
* Having no insurance.

In a rare public airing of grievances, disgruntled soldiers complained to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld on Wednesday.

Spc. Thomas Wilson had asked the defense secretary, "Why do we soldiers have to dig through local landfills for pieces of scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass to up-armor our vehicles?" Shouts of approval and applause arose from the estimated 2,300 soldiers who had assembled to see Rumsfeld.

The defense secretary hesitated and asked Wilson to repeat his question.

"We do not have proper armored vehicles to carry with us north," Wilson concluded after asking again.

"You go to war with the Army you have," Rumsfeld replied, "not the Army you might want or wish to have."

Rumsfeld urged the troops - mostly National Guard and Reserve soldiers - to discount critics of the war.

8-year-old girl suspended from school for 9 days for selling Jell-O shots.

The girl told the principal that her mother, who works in a bar, makes alcoholic shots at home and sells them at work. The fourth-grader said her mother had instructed her to take the shots to school and sell them, three for $1, to make some money for Christmas, Nowakowski said.

The gelatin was turned over to the sheriff's department for testing to see if it contained alcohol. The girl was suspended for violating school rules against possessing or trying to distribute a "lookalike," or something that appears to contain drugs or alcohol.

Under the lookalike rule, the girl's suspension will stand no matter what the sheriff's department finds.

"The school system's position is, it doesn't matter if it had alcohol in it or not," Nowakowski said.

Ah, yes, the school employees I'd been missing.

(and at 3 for a dollar, in New Orleans? There's no alcohol in those. Trust me.)

An asylum seeker, who stuffed shopping inside her clothes, told security staff it was the Romanian way to take things and pay later.

The thieving teenager, now banned from all stores in Wrexham, was found with pounds of meat and fruit hidden in a purpose-made sack under her skirt.

Tesco store detectives stopped 18-year-old Sandu Florenta as she staggered out with her load of stolen shopping, magistrates were told yesterday.

They discovered four packs of frozen lamb, three fresh chickens, three packets of stock cubes, finger chillies, a packet of burgers, garlic, peppers, socks and underwear plus almost five pounds of oranges and apples.

Florenta, who listened to evidence via a translator, has previous convictions for shoplifting.

High-school students mock "controversial" condom-use video.

"It was so boring," Christina Tarpley, now a 16-year-old junior at the Germantown school, said of the "Protect Yourself" video, which includes a discussion of sexually transmitted diseases, different forms of contraception and a demonstration of the proper way to put on a condom.

"I didn't see what the big deal about the demonstration was about," said classmate Walter Hood. "It wasn't that serious. It was stuff everybody knew about."

Meanwhile, their parents are still having apoplectic fits at the fact that teenagers know what S-E-X is.
