"Heliocentrism is an atheist doctrine!"

I honestly can't tell if these guys are serious Brownback supporters, or if they're mocking Brownback. If this post were alone, I'd say mocking, but check out the rest of the site.

I think it's real.

Pardon me while I vomit.

I did not think it was physically possible for anyone to say the contents of the post with a straight face. I am in literal fear of what might be waiting in the comments. It's either the ultimate demonstration of Poe's law ("Without the use of a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to make a parody of fundamentalism that someone won't mistake for the real thing") or the final and clinching proof that their reality has indeed lapped our satire.

Did you read even half the comments? They're so blatantly over the top and use absolutely nothing that a person seriously arguing a point would argue. Normally you'd expect copious amounts of Bible quotes, citations of books written with their point of view and, well, details. I got a little suspicious when they claimed there were "over 200 scientific studies" yet did not go on to imediately list even a handful of them. Also, do you honestly believe that a Christian hardcore enough to believe that heliocentrism was an atheist doctrine and repeatedly complain about the "pagan/Wiccan society" would name themselves Sisyphus after a character in one of those pagan myths?

Uh, have you ever listened to Creationists?

#1: Yes. That kind of unthinking idiocy is not just common, but rampant.
#2: He addresses that exact point and argues in the defense of the choice of name in one of the comments.

I'm not saying you're *wrong*. I'm saying that I can't see anything that makes the blog totally unbelievable as a serious supporter.

No, never. What was I thinking?

My vote for satire. Well, well done satire. Ranks right up there with the Onion's intelligent falling, but with less funny.

My clue: the biblical quotation can be found easily, but finding just the right mix of Lyell, Brahe.

On second thought, I'm halfway through the comments.

This lunacy takes dedication.
