If you don't know who the father is, you have to submit a list, and get them all checked until you find the right one, and then get his written permission.

Rape or incest? You need written proof of such from the police, instead of the father.

Hang on, is there actually legislation in the States that forces you to raise the kid once it's born? Can't you give it up for adoption?

(I mean, not that being able to give up a kid you were forced to carry to term makes the situation any better, but I think there is a difference between nine months of having your life interfered with and nineteen years of it.)

Very true. But that's messed up, why bring one more kid into the world that will have to be put into foster care for who knows how long, the life of the child is just so.. questionable.. It's rather selfish to bring a child into the world when you have no intentions of taking care of it, just because it is from your loins.

I still think it's fuck up that a guy could force the woman to carry a child under this...

In this case, because you're not allowed to get an abortion.

I agree that it's fucked up. I'm was just trying to confirm that there's currently no way to prevent the mother from giving up the child.

Yeah, that's true. The mother could just give up the kid if the father does not consent to the abortion... Maybe if the father refuses abortion, and the mother wants to give up the child, they should force HIM to raise the kid. Hah... But then, I guess if the mother knew it was going to be taken care of well, she wouldn't want to have an abortion in the first place. Unless she just hated that mother fucker. *Shrugs*

...that only works if you assume the mother's only reason for the abortion was worrying about what might happen to the kid after she gave birth.

She could be unable to afford going through pregnancy, or she could have health issues that make it dangerous for her to go through pregnancy, or she could have commitments and a life that pregnancy interferes with too much for her to put up with it, or she could just want the horrible invasive parasitic little cellclump to get the fuck away from her now, please.

Not sure if you mean the father or the fetus/cellclump, but either is entirely possible.
