New proposed abortion law: No abortion without written permission of the father.

If you don't know who the father is, you have to submit a list, and get them all checked until you find the right one, and then get his written permission.

Rape or incest? You need written proof of such from the police, instead of the father.

(It occurs to me that improved surrogacy and IVF techniques would probably resolve a great many problems. Dammit, technology, fix my world.)

Yes, "our" child but my point is that the tendency is to say "her child".

Ah, I see. I took your "my" to be a contrast to the "her" in "her body".

(FWIW, I've only ever heard the "her child" used in conditions where the presence of the father--in terms of support or commitment, not biology--is uncertain. "It" or "the fetus/embryo/whatsit" is a lot more common.)
