The "no input for one century" doesn't get me, but the idea of using a slowpoke reactor to charge the batteries in an electric car very much does. I hope they run with this and see where they end up.

The obvious downside to a car like this would be problems with long trips. The reactor doesn't have enough juice to sustain the car itself so you'd have to stop for a lengthy period of time whenever the batteries run out of charge.

Y'know, back during the debates, every time someone asked McCain how we would solve the energy problem with high oil prices and all, he always replied with a line about how we don't spend enough on nuclear energy.
