It seems what you hate about the privilege argument is that your opinion is being disagreed with on the grounds that people think you are an asshole and not considerate of those less fortunate.

It's not that your opinion isn't valid, it's that you're happy to be entertained by bad things happening to other people and would be horrified if those things happen to you.

You said the guy was your hero, that implies you're happy with what he did, you later appended so long as he doesn't do it to you our yours.

That sort of callous disregard for other people is a pretty strong sign of the privilege TWK is taking about, someone familiar with being targeted would probably be more likely to think of it happening to themselves first and find it less amusing.

As you wish. I don't have any reason to doubt your intentions. But bear in mind that no matter your intent, that is the impression you're giving off. If you wanted to convey something else, you missed the mark.
