You roll two fair 6-sided dice.

One of them is a 6.

What are the odds that the other is also a six?

I'm with Mr. Soul here: The question says, "also." If the first dice isn't a six, than the second (or "other") dice can't "also" be a six. Pardon the pun, but the question seems awfully weaselly to me.

A misleading question? From ME? NEVER.

Just an improperly phrased one, in my opinion. If I show you my beige truck and I say, "my other car is also blue," it's not misleading, it just doesn't make any sense.

The phrasing is fine, imo. The mistake you're making is assuming that "one of" meant the first die was a six... but all it means is that one of the two is.

PS: The question COULD be completely accurately rephrased as "at least one of the two dice IS a six. Given that, what are the odds that BOTH dice came up six?"

That restatement adds no conditions and changes nothing - and yet, is a much clearer statement of the issue.

Alright, I understand. I'm going to blame this head cold for being so slow on the uptake.
